5 Dupes to Gorgeously Expensive Fashion Items

Fashion is often times very expensive, but dupes can come to the rescue. Usually "dupe" is used with a negative connotiation, but it's not always bad. It's usually thought of as something that is copied off of something else, but it can really just be a cheaper item of the same trend / style. Fashion can be affordable if you try hard enough. I've compiled a list of 5 dupes that you can buy instead of 5 rather expensive items. Though the more expensive ones may be better quality, sometimes dupes can surprise us with how good they actually are. Hope you enjoy scrolling through these DUPES.

Starfish Necklace

Though $56 is not crazy expensive, I do think that it may not be worth the necklace you are getting. Yes, the price includes the whole experience and the brand name, but there are alternatives with very similar quality for much less. On the left, you can see a glass starfish necklace with great quality. And on the right, you can see a necklace with just as good quality. They are both made from glass, and if you don't like the ribbon on the right, you can simply switch it out for something different. Additionally, if you are looking for a different color or design, Etsy has a lot of different varieties to choose from. The Good Statement is a great brand with stunning pieces, but you can also get similar products from Etsy as well!

Unique Wash Baggy Jeans

I've been in love with the Jaded London Colossus jeans for a while now and when I saw something similar on Urban Outfitters for sale, I knew I had to buy it. Although the jeans from Urban Outfitters that I got is no longer in stock and was on sale for about $35, the jeans listed above is also a great match. They both have that super unique wash that has an acidy feel to it. The one from Urban Outfitters is call the BDG Destructed Baggy Skate Fit Jean and it's on sale for $9.95! Polka Dot Midi/Maxi Dress

Réalisation is known for their stunning dresses and their Stephanie dress in Paradiso Noir is no exception. It is 100% silk crepe so the drape is just beautiful. On the right side we have our dupe, the Princess Polly Nellie Maxi Dress in Black Polka Dot. It has a very similar design and it still looks amazing. However, it is 100% polyester so there is some difference in quality there. I would assume that the gap in the pricing also comes from the production process in which Réalisation Par is known as a sustainable brand whilst Princess Polly is considered a fast fashion brand. Either way, the dress from Princess Polly is still a perfect dupe as it has an almost exact design and pattern.

Chunky Scarf

Everybody has been obsessing about Acne Studios' Mohair Scarf and I can definitely see why. However, it seems that a lot of people hesitate to purchase it because of the high price point. Although it makes sense for it to be priced at $310 because it's made of mohair and because of the brand name, it may not be the best option for a lot of people. The scarf on the right can be a great dupe as it's almost 10 times cheaper and it also has that chunky scarf look. If you're looking to buy it, it's called the Vero Moda scarf in pastel check.

Buckled Ballerina Flats

Ever since ballet core was all the rage, these ballerina flats have been all over the place. They've gained so much popularity and I've seen so many celebrities and fashion influencers wear them. These Miu Miu Buckle Ballet Flats are even more amazing because of the punk flare that the shoes have. I've also wanted these shoes for a while, but they seem so unobtainable because of the price point. Although still pretty expensive, the Jeffrey Campbell Choreo Buckled Ballet Flat, sold on Urban Outfitters, provides a cheaper alternative. With a very similar design, it perfectly captures ballet core. Urban Outfitters also has other designs with ballet shoes and buckles so I would definitely recommend checking them out if you are interested!
