As leaves turn red, Fall rolls around. As Fall rolls around, fashion changes. Every season there are new trends, and this Fall is no exception. With the very recent New York Fashion Week, there is no better time than now to forecast some trends. These are my predictions of this year's Fall fashion based on runways, influencers, and brand collections. Take a good scroll and don't forget to checkout the 70 other blogs posted on By Blake!
Ballet Inspired Pieces
Ballet inspired clothes are all the rage, and rightfully so. From light colors, to boleros, to leg warmers, to ballet flats, I am obsessed with the whole idea. Shrubs and boleros are already all over the place and the ballet flats would look so good with pleated mini skirts, mentioned later in this blog. They are a perfect addition to the current trends of simplicity. These ballet flats and leg warmers were a part of the recent Miu Miu F/W 2022 show and people cannot seem to get enough of them.
Stripes
Stripes were first brought into high fashion by Chanel in the 1920s and 1930s. By the 1950's stripes became a part of youth culture and continued on its legacy. When the 1990's came, that's when stripes really rose to the top. They were "the" clothes to wear and is a part of the prevalent 90s fashion. Fashion always finds its way back, and there are no exceptions to stripes. Though stripes in pants are adorable as well, nothing can beat striped tops. It's an extremely versatile piece that you can style with almost every bottom and they come in so many different patterns and designs. If you haven't already, I strongly recommend you to dip into the world of stripes!
Red, Specifically Carmine Red
Red always seems to come back whenever Fall comes around. It is a stunning color and it's even proven by research that wearing the color red makes you seem more attractive. This fall, I think red will be really popular, especially the dark carmine red. Out of all the shades of red, carmine red is the most neutralized and calm red. You can often see this red in Converse shoes and many red jackets. It doesn't matter which clothing item red is in, but wearing red is definitely the move this Fall.
Pleated Micro Mini Skirt
Micro mini skirts have been around for about a year now and they are still going strong. The perfect combination of mini skirts and and low rise bottoms are a chef's kiss. This Fall, pleated skirts are going to be all the rage as multiple brands, including Miu Miu, Kim Shui, and Dauphinette, featured pleated micro mini skirts on their runways during this New York F/W Fashion Week (2022). They are even better when style with a big chunky belt and I can't wait to see people wearing these beauties around.
