My Fav NYC Stores and Fleas

surpriseeee we are finally back with another blog. i know it's a little later in july but better late than never! i am so excited to be back and had the much needed blog vacay. i'm still figuring out a way on how to continue this as i go into college, but in the meantime, we are so back to posting each week! since i've moved to new york and know many fellow students who are going to be here in about a month, i thought it'd be fitting to let you guys know my personal favorite spots in the city for clothes, accessories, inspiration and more. there's nothing more exciting than getting to explore a new area in a new chapter of life, so i hope this list gives you some ideas on where you can go/what you can do here<3

Chelsea Flea Market

not to confuse this with the Artists and Fleas in Chelsea Market, Chelsea Flea is located between 5th and 6th ave on 25th and 26th street. this is one of my absolute favorite places to go for jewelry as they're mostly pretty cheap and there are so many unique finds here. even if you're not looking to buy anything, it's so fun to just look around. they also have a bunch of clothes and cool antiques that are so worth the visit. it's also right by Madison Square Park and Eataly (which i absolutely adoreee) so it's in a great location where you can jump around to other places too!

Urban Jungle

Urban Jungle is one of the biggest (if not the single biggest) thrift store in new york. it's located in brooklyn and although it's a longer train ride away, the selection and proximity to other similar thrift stores make it so worth it. they have literally everything ranging from heavy winter jackets to summer dresses, to funky hats, to boots and sneakers, to bags, and quite literally anything else you would want in your wardrobe. their prices are also really good for it being in new york. if i remember correctly, this is owned by L Train Vintage (a well known thrift chain) and in my opinion, this location is their best one yet. there's an L Train Vintage store right next door and Le Point Value Thrift just a minute away. i'd say this place is a must if you're in new york.

The Vintage Twin

located in two very hot spots for shopping, the Vintage Twin is the perfect place for finding really cool vintage pieces. the prices are usually between $25-$60 because it's a curated store, but some pieces are definitely worth the price. the store is color-coded, making it easier to look through items, but i've also noticed that a lot of their pieces are a size medium or slightly larger, making it harder to find pieces that i liked that also fit me right. if you love one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, this is a great place to look and both stores are very close to other clothing and jewelry stores, making it a great place to visit while shopping!

Ludlow Flea

Ludlow Flea is one of my favorite places to go in LES. their vendors are always changing so you get to browse through fresh new styles every time you go and it's also great because you can haggle for a better price! the Lower East Side has a lot of thrift stores and vintage stores, but Ludlow Flea is the one that i come back to every single time.

260 Sample Sales

with 7 locations in new york (3 in Soho, 2 in NoMad, and one each on the Upper West + East), 260 Samples holds events where they partner with different brands and sell clothes and accessories for a much cheaper price. some of these brands include Cult Gaia, Adidas, Miaou, Reformation, Diesel, and Alexander Wang. i would say that this is one of the cheapest way to purchase these items in a new condition. as soon as you walk in, you check your bags and then get to shop away. i've gotten a bikini set for less than half the price before and at the Diesel one they had jackets marked for less than 1/5 of the original price. if you're in new york this is definitely worth the visit, especially since there are so many different locations and events going on all the time. one downside is that there are no individual dressing rooms. most don't have any at all (there's just open racks with mirrors) and some only have a women/men's room without individual stalls.

all in all, i hope you guys enjoyed this blog and i am so so excited to be back!!
