Winter Must Haves

From Christmas to Hanukah, to New Years, and to Valentines Day, winter is full of festivities. With the festivities, comes many outings and events, as well as many outfits to wear. Whether it's formal attire, casual attire, or anything in between, it can get tricky on how to dress vogue. Many outfits look basic as a lot of winter-wear include hoodies, sweaters, and sweatpants. A quick and easy way to fix this problem is to own unique and trendy items that will last long time. Never buy fad clothing. NEVER. Items listed down below are perfect examples of what kind of clothing items you can get to elevate your winter looks. It is the perfect time to go through this list of winter must haves as it is never too late to add it to you Christmas wish list! My fellow thrifters, get excited; a lot of these items are easily found at thrift stores.

Leather Bomber Jacket

Leather bomber jacket are not only charming, but they are heavy duty, comfortable, and very warm. They are easily found at numerous thrift stores and the prices usually get as cheap as $30. To style them, you can throw it on over your already-planned outfit, and watch it do it's magic. It will instantly make your outfit look a lot more tasteful and will make it seem like you put in lots of effort; when in reality, you threw on a pair of sweatpants, a hoodie, and a leather bomber jacket. I would personally recommend getting a black leather bomber jacket that is oversized to get the most wear out of it.

Corduroy Pants

If there's one fashion trend that comes back every winter, it's corduroy pants. Though simple, by wearing corduroy pants instead of regular pants or jeans, it adds more texture to your outfit, therefore allowing the outfit look more interesting. You can pair these with any top, an oversized jacket, some nice sneakers or boots, and you are good to go. Any style of pants except for skinny gets a thumbs up from me.

Puffer Jackets/Vests

Puffers dominate the street when winter comes around, and this year is no exception. People are obsessed with the North Face Puffer Jackets but there are so many more varieties out there. For example, you can get them at designer brands like Salvatore Ferragamo and Prada, or at brands like Urban Outfitters and Aritizia with more affordable prices. Puffer jackets really go with everything and are fairly easy to find at thrift stores. The perks of getting a puffer from a thrift store is that you can get high end quality for less than a fourth of the retail price. Puffer jackets have been around for a while and it doesn't seem like they are going away soon. With the recent trends, it seems like puffer vests are settling in as well. So, if you don't have a go-to puffer yet, what are you doing? Go get yourself one!

Clogs/Chunky Slides

To be cute or to be comfy, clogs and chunky slides have it all. As the Holiday season brings cold wind and warm snow, people gravitate towards clothing that are comfortable, easy to wear, and fluffy. With clogs or chunky slides, you get all of those wonderful aspects you want in one winter shoe. Not only can you wear these shoes outside, but you can also wear them indoors. Whether they are worn with tights, a skirt, and a leather jacket, or with sweatpants and a hoodie, these shoes always pull through. If you have been on Instagram recently, you could have noticed that many fashion influencers have been showing off their own comfy winter shoes. Though lots of them are Uggs, a classic we can't forget, the spotlight is also on these unique shoes. They go perfectly along with the 70's trends going around as well as the "that girl" trend.

Chunky Scarves

If there is one thing that NEVER goes away when it comes to winter fashion, they're scarves. And this year, the people are all about chunky scarves. It does't matter what color or material; as long as it is chunky, it get's a pass. As the "oversized" trend has been passing through all types of clothing like jeans and sweatshirts, it has reached scarves now. Honestly, I love this trend. It is perfect for the winter as it will give you so much warmth to defend yourself from the bone-shivering sharp winter wind. Not only that, but with these chunky scarves on, wherever you walk will become your runway. My favorite thing about scarves is the versatility of them and the variety of the different ways that you can wear them. If you left your house with a scarf on but forgot to put on your earmuffs or hat, you can just throw on the scarf over your ears, and voila, your ears are now protected. There are also so many different ways to style the scarf around your neck, and with a quick search online, you will be able to find tens of different ways to put it on and change it up depending on what you're feeling!
